About Us
Tropico Kennels is a name we took on, because many years ago we lived off of a street named "Mojave Tropico Road". But it’s been years since we lived there, and is the reason we decided to update the name to "Southern California Kennels". Our family has been breeding dogs in Southern California for over 20 years.
Our puppies are all raised indoors in our guest house. We are home with them 24/7 and if we leave, then we have a pet sitter that comes and stays at our home/kennel.
Our children (and their friends) play with the puppies from birth. They help us with all aspects of the puppies care and handling. Our puppies are very well socialized from birth until they leave for their new homes.
Breeding dogs is truly a labor of love for our entire family!
Our dogs have 3 acres to enjoy and when they are retired from breeding we find them loving 4 - ever homes. See our "Adults For Sale" page for their adoption info.
We take what we do very seriously, this is the reason we are a licensed kennel, adhering to all the laws in the state of California and Los Angeles County. We are licensed by the State of California (SBOE) and also by Los Angeles County Animal Control.
Licensed kennels receive yearly grades upon inspection and every year we continue to receive an "A", which is the highest grade possible. The score card is required to be posted like you see in Restaurants.
