Deposit Policy

How to make your deposit payment by mail:

The deposit to reserve a puppy is $300 if you mail a personal check, money order or cashier's check.

All the information you need to mail a deposit to us is on the Deposit Form.

Click here for the Deposit Form: "Deposit Form"

How to make your deposit payment by credit card:

If you want to use a credit card, then you must use Western Union or PayPal, because we do not have a credit card machine to process credit card payments from you directly.

For Western Union click here: Money Transfer | Western Union

Credit Card payments through PayPal are instant!

When using a credit card through PayPal to make your deposit, the deposit arrives to us instantly, verses a check in the mail, which takes a few days to actually arrive to us. However if you use a check with PayPal instead of a credit card, then your deposit is not instant like it is when using a credit card. It can take 5-7 business days for e-checks to clear and your deposit received date will go by the date the check actually clears.

If you want to use PayPal for the deposit:

Please click on the "Buy Now" PayPal button below. You can use your checking account or most major credit cards securely on line with PayPal.

If you use PayPal a $10 processing fee is applied to the $300 deposit, totaling $310.00 if you use PayPal to make your deposit.

Filling out the Deposit Form:

Anyone making a deposit must fill out a Deposit Form. You only need to make one $300 deposit if your only buying one puppy, but you must fill out a "Deposit Form" for each one of your choices, including any and all back up choices.

If you want to buy more than one puppy, then a $300 deposit is required for each puppy.

Date of Deposit Dictates Your Order of Selection:

Your date of deposit arrival dictates your order for selection; earlier deposits enter the selection queue first. You will be able to choose your puppy in the same order your deposit arrived to us, this is your deposit received date. First deposit gets first pick, second deposit gets second pick and so on.

Deposits can arrive on a daily basis, so what position or availability we quote you today, may be different on the day your deposit actually arrives to us.

Exceptions to the deposit date selection order rule:

Getting Bumped Down the Selection List: If the puppies have not been born, there is a possibility of getting bumped down the selection list for someone on another waiting list with an earlier deposit, where the litter didn’t yield enough puppies to fulfill their order

But once the puppies are born, moving around to another litter is not permitted. You can, however, move into the next "open" spot in another litter. See our minimum 14 days notice below.

But you would not be able to bump above anyone on another litter if you decide to move "after" your litter has been born and you know there's a puppy available in it for you. Next to every name on a waiting list is the date we received their deposit. We also include notes next to names, so you'll know what all their choices are.

Additional Selection Options to Consider:

Selecting a backup litter: When selecting the litter you want, you may choose a litter and then an additional back up litter. However, this is permitted only if no puppies have been born yet.

You may choose as many back up litters as you like and you need to fill out a Deposit Form for each additional litter.

After puppies have been born and there is one available for you in that litter, you cannot remain on more than one waiting list.

You must choose to stay on the list of the pups that are born or be removed from that list in order to stay on the other list that hasn't been born yet.

Once you make your choice, you will lose your place in line in all other litters and fall under the rules of the minimum 14 days notice written below.

Sex Preference Selection Options: If the puppies haven't been born yet, you may choose either male or female as your sex preference. This prevents losing out on a puppy if there isn’t enough of one particular sex.

However you must do this at the time you fill out your Deposit Form, you cannot decide you’re willing to take either sex after your name has already been added to the list.

Once the puppies are born, you are required to make your final selection of male or female and aren't able to choose from both sexes anymore. 99% of people have a sex preference and they don't want to arrive at our home/kennel on the take home day to find that there's no puppies left in the sex they wanted.

So in general just keep in mind that for the most part selection goes in order of deposit received. The people that made their deposit first have priority. So check all the other waiting lists to see all the possibilities.

But rest assured that once the puppies are born, you will know exactly where you are on the waiting list and will be "guaranteed" that position. No more worrying about anyone getting in line before you or getting bumped off the list. And if we cannot supply you with a puppy in the sex and litter you chose, then we will refund your deposit.

Minimum 14 Days Notice for Cancelations:

If we do have a puppy available for you in the litter and sex that you selected, but for some reason you change your mind later on after we have already received your deposit, then you must give us a minimum 14 days notice in writing (14 days prior to the take home day). Sending us an email is fine, just make sure you receive an email response from us, so that you know we've read it. As long as you give us at least 14 days notice in writing, then your deposit can roll over to another available litter of your choice, but it is not refundable. You would not be able to bump above anyone, you would go in the next "open" spot. And most likely no one will be able to bump above you either, because you will get to keep your original deposit received date. So as long as no one else made their deposit before your original deposit received date, then you know you will not get bumped. You also won't get bumped if you move your deposit to a litter with puppies that have already been born, even if someone made their deposit before yours. However if you give us any less than the minimum 14 days notice, then your deposit will be forfeited.

You must come on time to your scheduled appointment:

Please visit our "Visiting Policy" page for more information about appointments for selection and pick up. If you fail to show up for your appointment, whether it's on line or in person, your deposit and your puppy will be forfeited!

If you don't like the puppies left for you to choose from:

When you come to choose your puppy, if you do not like the colors that are left for you to choose from, then you may roll your deposit over to the next available litter of your choice. We can not guarantee color, because selection is done in order of deposit received and so we have no idea which puppies will be chosen until the take home day. We can only guarantee you the sex and litter that you selected, not color.

If you are last pick puppy and you do not like the puppy that is left, then you may roll your deposit over to the next available litter of your choice.

If for some reason you seriously do not bond with any of the puppies you come to choose from, then we will allow you to roll your deposit over to the next available litter of your choice. We are shocked when we read some of the other breeders deposit policies. We feel that many of them are really unfair to the buyer, so we try to be as fair as we can, but at the same time we only want serious buyer's sending us deposits. Some breeders don't even allow people to choose their own puppies, or they can tie up a deposit for months and even years at no fault of the buyer's. We feel we have one of the best, if not "the best" deposit policy out there.

If for any reason we do not have a puppy for you in the litter and sex that you selected, then your deposit is fully refundable:

Please give serious thought to your decision to purchase a puppy from us. Deposits are meant to indicate your intention to purchase a puppy from us and once we receive your deposit, it is only refundable if we cannot supply you with a puppy in the litter and sex that you selected. If you decide to cancel prior to the litter (or "litters" if you chose more than one) being born, then your deposit and puppy will be forfeited.

We consider the litter and sex that you selected to be each and every litter that you filled out a Deposit Form for. Your deposit is not refundable if we can provide you with a puppy in "any" of the litters or sexes that you filled out a Deposit Form for. Each Deposit Form is considered a commitment on your part, even if you selected several choices.

Once we receive your deposit it is not refundable for any other reason, other than we can not supply you with a puppy in the litter and sex that you selected.

We reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone at any time and in this case your deposit would be fully refunded.

Final Payments:

We do not require final payment until the puppies original scheduled take home date (around 8 weeks of age). Unlike most of the other breeders that require the final payment much earlier.

All final payments must be made by the original "Take Home Date" for the litter, which is listed on the web site (at about 8 weeks of age). Once you've paid the final balance all sales are final, there will be no refunds or exchanges allowed. With the only exception of health problems, which would then pertain to our "Health Guarantee". If the balance does not reach us by the original scheduled take home date for the litter, then the puppy and deposit will both be forfeited. Puppies that are being held longer than the original scheduled take home date, still need to be paid for in full no later than by the original scheduled take home date for the litter. If not, then the deposit and puppy will both be forfeited.

If you've made prior arrangements with us to keep your puppy past the original take home date and you're being charged for boarding, then those fees must be paid for in full and clear our bank prior to shipping or release of the puppy.

We do not hold puppies past the original scheduled take home date unless you have made prior arrangements with us and we have a mutual agreement. In most cases we charge extra for boarding. Puppies being shipped will normally be shipped during the week after the original take home date and you will be notified prior as to which days we can ship your puppy.

As long as you're able to pick up the puppy on the days we can ship, you would not be charged for the extra days the puppy is here between the original scheduled take home date and the shipping date.

For final payment, if you are picking up your puppy in person we prefer cash, because even cashier's checks can be stop paid.

If you are coming in person and traveling a long distance and do not want to carry cash, then please email us to discuss other payment options. Under certain circumstances with proper identification, we will accept US Postal money orders and cashier's checks. Another option is you can bank wire the money to us, as long as the wire hits our bank before the puppy leaves our property and no later than by the original take home date for the litter. No personal checks will be accepted for final payments.

We do not normally take PayPal for balances (only for deposits), because PayPal has a good buyer protection policy, but a rather poor seller protection policy. They also charge us a 3% fee per transaction. So if you need to pay your final balance with PayPal, then please let us know this "before" making your deposit, so we can discuss this with you and decide if paying your balance with PayPal is going to be an acceptable option or not.

If you need to use a credit card for the balance, then you can use Western Union, but payment must be received prior to the puppy leaving our property and no later than by the original take home date for the litter.

Puppies being shipped:

If we are "shipping" the puppy to you and you need to mail your final payment to us, then we do accept cashier's checks, we also accept money orders, Western Union and bank wires. If you need to use a credit card, you can use Western Union. Cashier's checks and money orders must clear our bank prior to shipping. No personal checks will be accepted for final payments. If we are shipping your puppy, then the puppy must be paid for in full by the take home date listed on the web site. Otherwise the puppy and deposit will both be forfeited.

Sales Tax:

If your picking up your puppy in person, then California sales tax will be applied at the current Los Angeles County rate. Even if your coming from another state, this is California law.

If we are "shipping" the puppy to you by plane "out of state" there is NO sales tax.
